Однажды Нанда Махараджа спросил у своего брата Сананды: «Откуда Говардхана взялся на Голоке Вриндаване?» Сананда ответил: «Нарада Муни уже рассказывал об этом Бахулашве. Кришна проявил Вриндаван и всё Своё окружение из разных частей Своего тела. Говардхана изошёл из Его груди. Как-то раз, когда Кришна был с гопи на лугу танца раса, Радхика бросила на Него взгляд из уголков глаз и сказала:

О Властелин всех миров, если Ты доволен Моей любовью в танце раса, то исполни одну Мою просьбу.

Моя дорогая подруга, проси, чего душа желает.

В великолепном лесу Вриндаване, в уединённом месте у берега Ямуны, пожалуйста, устрой новое место для блаженного танца раса.

Кришна кивнул и замер в медитации. Своими лотосоподобными глазами Он заглянул Себе прямо в сердце. Тут Радха и все окружавшие Её гопи увидели, как любовь Кришны к Радхике вырвалась из Его груди в виде потока огня и воды, подобно тому, как молодой росток пробивает землю и выходит наружу. Упав на луг, эта олицетворённая любовь превратилась в гигантскую гору со множеством пещер, быстрых ручейков, деревьев кадамба, ашока, бакула, цветущих лиан, птиц и зверей. В мгновение ока гора стала 800 тыс. миль в ширину, 8 млрд. миль в длину и 4 млрд. миль в высоту. Она напоминала ещё одного Ананта-Шешу, горные пики возвышались на 180 млн. миль. Ещё эта гора напоминала громаднейший замок с золотыми куполами. Одни стали называть её Говардханой, другие Шаташрингой, т.е. «Сто вершин». Гора взметнулась так высоко, как только могла. Она стремительно росла в размерах, и все, видевшие эту немыслимую картину, переполошились и закричали.

Господь Кришна, не медля ни секунды, пришлёпнул её сверху ладошкой и сказал:

Что это ты разошлась, заполнила всё Моё царство! Ану-ка прекрати!

Так Кришна остановил её безудержный рост. Удивив Радху, Он сиял от счастья, и та теперь была очень довольна. Божественные возлюбленные много раз наслаждались играми в пещерах этой горы. Так Господь Кришна проявил холм Говардхану, тёмный, как и Он Сам и вмещающий все святые места.

This song presents a vivid picture of Vrindavana. According to Srila Prabhupada, she has everything: Srimati Radharani, Vrindavan, Govardhana, Yasoda and the cowherd boy.

Recognition of Radha:

We were in Our Beloved place, on the banks of the river near a huge spreading tree, where My Beloved made a beautiful swing and He and I rocked, sang songs, or rather, He played Me on His favorite flute, and I sang Him songs about how I I love how I admire Him. I whispered to Him with an overwhelming feeling of awe and tenderness about My great Love for Him. Praised His amazing Divine beauty. What amazing and beautiful eyes He has, where all the Greatness of His enormous Power of Divine Love was reflected. How smart he is, unique, talented, courageous and strong.

Once Nanda Maharaja asked his brother Sananda: “Where did Govardhana come from Goloka Vrndavana?” Sananda replied: “Narada Muni has already told Bahoulashva about this. Krishna manifested Vrindavan and His whole environment from different parts of His body. Govardhana came out of His chest. Once, when Krishna was with the gopis in the meadow of the rasa dance, Radhika looked at him from the corners of her eyes and said:

O Lord of all worlds, if You are satisfied with My love in the dance of the race, then fulfill My one request.

My dear friend, ask what the soul desires.

In the magnificent forest of Vrindavan, in a secluded place off the coast of the Yamuna, please arrange a new place for the blissful dance of the race.

Krishna nodded and froze in meditation. With his lotus-like eyes, He looked Himself right into the heart. Then Radha and all the gopīs surrounding Her saw how K Кришныныa’s love for Radhika broke out of His chest in the form of a stream of fire and water, just as a young sprout breaks the ground and comes out. Having fallen on a meadow, this personified love turned into a giant mountain with many caves, fast streams, kadamba trees, ashoka, bakula, flowering vines, birds and animals. In no time, the mountain became 800 thousand miles wide, 8 billion miles long and 4 billion miles high. It was reminiscent of yet another Ananta Shesha, mountain peaks rising 180 million miles. This mountain also resembled a huge castle with golden domes. Some began to call her Govardhana, others Satashringa, i.e. «One hundred peaks.» The mountain shot up as high as it could. She was rapidly growing in size, and everyone who saw this inconceivable picture was alarmed and screamed.

Lord Krishna, without hesitating for a second, slapped her on top with his palm and said:

That you parted, filled my whole kingdom! Stop anu!

So Krishna stopped her runaway growth. Surprising Radha, He shone with happiness, and she was now very pleased. Divine lovers have many times enjoyed games in the caves of this mountain. Thus Lord Krishna manifested the Govardhana Hill, dark as He Himself and containing all the holy places.
